Puritanism


Puritanism:
                      The protestants whose against the religious settlement made by queen Elizabeth were known as puritans. They wanted to purify the church, that the purification of church by the puritans was known as Puritanism.
                       They wanted to abolish the religious settlement of queen Elizabeth. Puritans were also called as separatist or dessenters. Puritanism was the extreme form of protestanism.
                       Puritanism was the against of the rituals of the established church from taint of the roman catholic’s religious practices. They hated the episcopy of bishop’s administration. They wanted the administration of church by presbyters or elders.
                      The age of Puritanism may be roughly defined from the period of reformation. It extended from the reign of queen Elizabeth to 1660.
